Our workshops have proved a huge success for introducing the benefits of training. In Uzbekistan recently, tour guides were motivated by collaboration with their colleagues.

“Planning our next event with EastguidesWest”
In November 2019, we decided to organise an event for our tour guides in Samarkand. They had delivered excellent service throughout the year. We knew they would like to get some training and international tourism industry insights. We connected with EastguidesWest and asked what could be done in a short time. EastguidesWest did everything to accommodate a time frame within two months!
This was the very first time in Uzbekistan to hold a private company event for tour guides and tour operators. In cooperation with EastguidesWest, we achieved a big result. The Samarkand Guide Forum grew out of this and serves as knowledge sharing and team building tool.
The tour guides realised how important hands-on training from a guest perception is and, they realised that they have colleagues! That they don’t work alone, even if they don’t see each other often. Now they cooperate, share knowledge and socialise to enhance our tour products. This is truly a great eye opener for us and our guides, and we are planning our next event already together with EastguidesWest.
